Summary Of 2018
The 2018 Atlanta Braves showed a lot of potential coming into Opening Day. This was evident by the end of April as the Braves found themselves in the second place of the NL East. Atlanta also led their division by the end of May despite being chased by both Washington and Philadelphia. July proved they were no fluke as they were off the division lead by half a game. The Atlanta team finished the regular season at the top of the NL East eight games ahead of second place.
The Braves had a solid year on offense as the big bats showed up when it mattered the most. Freddie Freeman led the team in RBI with 98 as Atlanta had did not have a hard time scoring runs. Freeman also let the roster in batting average (.309). Rookie Ronald Acuña was a very big factor for the Braves during 2018. The 22-year-old led the team in HRs with 26 longballs and was the definition n of a clutch hitter for the Braves.
The Dodgers were too much for the Braves once postseason came around. The ALDS was a constant struggle for Atlanta as they were held in check by L.A in the first game of the series losing 6-0. Not much changed for game two of the series as Los Angeles once again shut down Atlanta 3-0. The Georgia ballclub got a hold of game three but was defeated a game later once again ending the championship hopes and their season.
