Summary of 2018
The Brewers had a spectacular year. They won 10 of their last 12, including the last seven, to force a Game 163 against the Chicago Cubs for the division title. The Brewers won that, then swept the Colorado Rockies in the NLDS. Milwaukee lost in the NLCS to the Los Angeles Dodgers in seven games, but their season was still a success.
NL MVP Christian Yelich led a balanced offense with a league leading .326 average and .598 slugging percentage. He finished 2 home runs and 1 RBI short of becoming the first NL Triple Crown winner since 1937. Jesus Aguilar and Travis Shaw also hit more than 30 home runs.
The pitching staff was a pleasant surprise for Milwaukee fans. Jhoulys Chacin took over the ace role, going 15-8 with a 3.50 ERA. Josh Hader set a Major League record for left handed relievers with 143 strikeouts. The amazing thing about that number is that he did it in just 81 1/3 innings.
