Summary of 2018
The good news for the Detroit Tigers in 2018 is that they finished third in the AL Central. The bad news is that they did that even with only 64 wins. Detroit was within a game of .500 when they ended their longest winning streak of the season on June 17. However, the Tigers had seven losing streaks that were at least that long.
There was a severe power outage in Detroit. The Tigers had the fewest home runs in the American League. They had only four players with 10 or more home runs with Nick Castellanos (23) as the only 20+ home run hitter in their lineup.
No pitcher topped 10 wins in 2018, and Mike Fiers (7-6) was the only pitcher to start at least one game and won more than they lost. The Tigers were in the bottom third of the American League in most pitching statistics.
